We recommend international applicants send everything in one package, but in separate sealed envelopes.
When is the deadline?
Our deadline, for all materials, is March 31 for the following fall semester.
What is the application fee?
The charge is free.
What is the institution code?
The institution code is 7142.
Are copies of GRE and TOEFL acceptable?
We do not accept photocopies of the GRE and TOEFL score sheets. When you take the exam, please ask them to send the progenitor to us directly.
How many students do you accept every year?
TIGP-MCB program can take 20 qualified students at most every year. Each TIGP program is approved to take 20 students in a year. The ratio to the numbers of local students and international students normally is 1:1. TIGP-MCB program only take students who with high potential in doing good research.
What is the financial support to a program student?
1. MCB students are guaranteed for the first-year TIGP full scholarship from Academia Sinica when they first join in the program and maintain the student status.
2. MCB students are eligible to receive 2 more years of TIGP scholarship from Academia Sinica when they pass all the required courses, nonthesis examination and have a thesis advisor who serves in the TIGP-MCB program. Failure to fulfill any of the above requirement results in immediate discontinuation of the scholarship.
3. Starting from the fourth year, the thesis advisor is responsible for the MCB student stipend and the amount may vary depending on the advisor's funding source.
How long does it take to get a PhD?
A minimum of two-year thesis research is required. The maximal length of study in this Ph.D. program is seven years
