International students who are planning to study in Academia Sinica are advised to apply for a “resident visa” before arriving Taiwan. If the Embassy Office only has the right to issue your visa as “visitor visa”, you still can bear it to enter Taiwan. A “Visitor Visa” is generally valid for three months. International Foreign Affair working staff will help you out with the visa status change when you register in Academia Sinica.
The TIGP student dormitory, completed in the fall of 2006, is conveniently located just a few minutes' walk (within 200m) from the campus main gate and nearby bus stops.
