International students who are planning to study in Academia Sinica are advised to apply for a “resident visa” before arriving Taiwan. If the Embassy Office only has the right to issue your visa as “visitor visa”, you still can bear it to enter Taiwan. A “Visitor Visa” is generally valid for three months. International Foreign Affair working staff will help you out with the visa status change when you register in Academia Sinica.
The TIGP student dormitory, completed in the fall of 2006, is conveniently located just a few minutes' walk (within 200m) from the campus main gate and nearby bus stops. This modern building houses approximately 140 single study bed rooms, all with en suite facilities. The building is secured 24 hours/day by on-site guards and surveillance cameras, and has central air conditioning.
Each study bedroom is furnished with a single bed, desk and chair, bookshelf, wardrobe, telephone and internet connection as well as its own bathroom. TIGP regrets that this dormitory cannot accommodate students living with family.
