Introduction

DNA microarrays have evolved from a novel technology to one of the essential tools in genomic research. The technique application ranges from the monitoring of gene expression of thousands of genes simultaneously under different conditions to classification of biological research.

The Microarray Core Facility is housed on the second floor of the Institute of Molecular Biology, Academia Sinica. The purpose of the Core is to provide users with the technology to conduct microarray experiments , give technical advances, equipments and services. The Core performs the cDNA synthesis, fluorescent labeling, hybridization, scanning, quantitation, and analysis steps of the cDNA microarray process. While the Core has traditionally focused on gene expression profiling, we continually expand our services to take advantage of new applications that use existing technology platforms.
