Job Description:
Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Fellowship in the area of RNA biology, focusing on mechanisms of RNA decay and its important role in gene regulation in E.coli. Experimental approaches include genetic, molecular biology, biochemical, and global analyses. We have identified and characterized the RNA degradosome, including verifying its existence in vivo and its attachment to the cytoplasmic membrane. Recently, we have focused on the discovery of novel regulators of RNase E and the mechanism to selectively target a specific subset of RNA transcripts for degradation. Candidate Qualifications:
Candidates who have received a Ph. D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Microbiology or Life Sciences are welcome to apply. Applicants are requested to provide at least 2 references (thesis mentors must be included) in their application.
