IMB Student, Technician and Postdoc Traveling Fellowship

To encourage students, technicians and postdocs at IMB to attend professionally relevant international meetings.

Application Dates

  • December 1-15 , April 1-15, August 1-15
  • There will be three terms for the application. The application deadlines are April 15th , August 15th and December 15th respectively.
  • Please submit all materials to Ms. Hong at Room 105 by 5PM of the application deadline.

Qualifications

  1. Students, technicians and postdocs who have joined IMB for 1 year or longer at the time of application.
  2. Postdoc who completed Ph.D. training in the same lab and did not receive this fellowship during Ph.D. training will not be subjected to the above regulation.
  3. Give an oral or poster presentation in the meeting.
  4. Each person can receive this fellowship maximally twice in five years, and needs to give different presentations in the two meetings.

Fellowship

  1. The number of fellowship granted depends on the institutional budget and the quality of the applicants. In principle, nine fellowships will be granted each year.
  2. Most of the cost, e.g. airfare, registration fee, living expenses 20% discount (registration fee not includes meal and lodging), can be reimbursed according to Academia Sinica standard. The upper limit of a fellowship is NT$60,000.
  3. Application to other funding source is highly encouraged (other funding sources). When the number of qualified applicants exceed the number of fellowships, technician will be considered with first priority because funding source for technician is the most limited.
  4. The fellowship funds the applicant for the intended meeting at the time of application.

Application Materials

  1. One hard copy and one electronic copy of the filled application form.
  2. One copy of applicant's CV and publication reprints or manuscript.
  3. Meeting abstract and acceptance letter (the latter can be submitted when available).
  4. Meeting program.
  5. One recommendation letter from applicant's mentor.

Review and Announcement

IMB student affair committee will invite reviewers to evaluate all applications. The recommended grantee will be approved by IMB director, and announced within 2 weeks after each application deadline.
