Jun-An received his BSc in Chemistry from National Chung-Cheng University in Taiwan. Then he moved to National Taiwan University to obtain his MSc degree in Biochemistry. Later he joined Enrique Amaya’s lab in the Wellcome Gurdon Institutein University of Cambridge for PhD in Developmental Biology.
At the Columbia University, his postdoctoral work with Hynek Wichterle applied ESC and mouse model to decipher the role of miRNA during motor neuron development. Jun-An received several awards, including the MoST talented young investigator fellowship.
Jun-An is currently a tenured research fellow in Institute of Molecular Biology in Academia Sinica, and is affilated in Molecular & Cell Biology Program(MCB), Interdisciplinary Neuroscience Program (IN), Academia Sinica Translational Medicine, and NTU-AS Genome and Systems Biology Degree Program
